Three members of Barnard's dance faculty have received Guggenheim Fellowships from The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. Chosen from a group of almost 3,000 applicants, they are among a diverse group of 175 scholars, artists, and scientists in the foundation's eighty-ninth annual competition for the United States and Canada.
Lynn Garafola, Professor of Dance, has been awarded a fellowship in the Humanities category for her research in dance studies.
Faye Driscoll, Associate Professor, Artist in Residence has been awarded a fellowship in the Creative Arts category for her choreography work.
David Parker, Lecturer, has been awarded a fellowship in the Creative Arts category for his choreography work.
They join a long list of Barnard dance faculty recognized by the Guggenheim Foundation over the past decade, including lecturer Jodi Melnick who received a fellowship in 2012.
