Wendy Whelan will be staging Alexi Ratmansky's Pictures at an Exhibition (2014), a ballet to a celebrated score by Mussorgsky that "gathers unstoppable momentum" (The New York Times), during the six class meetings.  Dancers will learn solos, partnered duets (dependent on registrant population), and ensemble sections of the piece

Selected readings and screenings will enrich the learning experience.

All ballet dancers in the advanced and intermediate advanced levels are encouraged to register. Pointe work is expected for women, although soft ballet slippers are acceptable.

Pictures at an Exhibition is a work for 5 male-female couples.  All dancers registered for the course will learn all choreography.
